Sequential Figure & Ground

My main goal throughout this project was to embrace letterforms as their own abstract shapes. My design embraces all 4 concepts of flow, value transition, shape, and pattern, as the letterforms create a unified composition. By intertwining the letters of typography and the numbers 1-10, this project was extremely limiting, yet by playing with typefaces and sizing, I was able to create a product I am extremely proud of.

Each element of the design was carefully placed to flow into the next, with the folds of the paper serving as the only visual break in the composition. My design features a strong value transition from light to dark, almost giving a gradient effect as the viewer's eye follows the composition.
